
Political feuding has gradually dragged the economic condition of Kuwait. On saturday, some Kuwaitis are expected to go to polling center with hopes that their votes would elect new faces that would rescue its ailing economy.
Yet, some have feared that their dreams for an economic reforms would only be trashed due to possible intimidation in polling places and vote-buying comes election.
The crisis persisted despite repeated pleas by the Amir, who has the last say in policy, for the legislative and executive branches to work together for the good of the country.
“We are hearing the same talk but until now we haven’t seen any accomplishments... I see that history repeats itself,” said Amani Bouresli, a professor of finance at Kuwait University.
